Loss of Me is a tribute dedicated to Beatrix (Final Fantasy IX).
It was opened on the 22nd of June, 2007 but is presently incomplete.
It is to be revamped some time in the near future.
Beatrix is an amazing character from the role-playing game Final Fantasy IX. Known to be the best swordsman in the lands, Beatrix is General of the Alexandrian Army, leading without hesitation upon Queen Brahne's orders. She's adequate in both magic as well as physical combat, thus making her a truly skilled combatant. Her sense of justice lies within Alexandria's future, and she will do everything and anything in her power to lead the kingdom to salvation.
It's rare for me to come to like a female character so much, and one with a minor role no less. Simply put, I was drawn to Beatrix the moment she appeared briefly during the introduction. Beautiful yet feared and respected. She's a piece of work, really. Oh, and her conversations with Steiner. Got to love those words exchanged, especially on Adelbert's part.
Normally it's quite difficult to have an easy time with a no-nonsense sort of person, but this woman is a wholly different case. Despite the firm and businesslike nature she harnesses, it's possible to see the sisterly personality beneath the fierce mask. Beatrix looks after the kingdom of Alexandria and - much later - the princess, Garnet. Never the less, she is a reliable and loyal knight, a valuable companion to have on one's side.
Also, she's either kicking your butt or kicking with you. Her boss battles are so cheap and a pain to live through, but having her on the party is a blast. Good magic and sword skills? Yes, please.
Of course, there's the part all the males especially like. Beatrix is not all buffed up and muscular, but in fact, very attractive and beautiful. This makes her such a catch for Steiner (considering that pairing is basically semi-canon if not something more); the looks, wisdom, strength, she's got it all. Truly unique and the model knight.
It's safe to say that Beatrix has had to be the first female character to catch my attention so quickly and still have that grip on it after all this time. She is made up of sheer brilliancy. The Rose of May will never wither!
